Yesterday, US equity indices finished mixed. The S&P 500 rose by 0.02%, while the Nasdaq 100 fell by 0.18%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.51%.
After the closing bell, however, futures saw a sizable sell-off that carried into today. The MSCI Asia Pacific index plunged by as much as 3.6% to a May low, approaching technical correction territory. South Korea’s KOSPI led regional losses, tumbling by 11% and trading more than 30% below its peak amid a deepening semiconductor rout.
